What Moneris needed
Moneris initially hired me to lightly edit and polish agency drafts. After I reviewed them, I found that most needed a complete rewrite, starting with each article’s direction.
I decided who each piece needed to reach, what it should cover, and how to structure it. Then I wrote the copy, connecting merchants’ questions with relevant Moneris products.
Guide · Audience & structure
Fraud prevention for small-business owners.
I changed the audience from enterprise fraud teams to small-business owners, including people running restaurants and salons. I cut nine sections to four and connected fraud-prevention tools with relevant Moneris features.

Article · Helping readers choose
Helping salon owners choose a website template.
I replaced half the templates and introduced a “best for” approach. Instead of just describing how each template looks, I explained which salon types and services it suits.
Original entry · Lumine Aesthetics
“Lumine Aesthetics uses a refined look that directs attention to your top treatments from the moment users arrive. Its balanced headings and subtle colour palette create an immediate sense of comfort.”
Published entry · Sovin
“Sovin is ideal for dry bars and styling-focused salons that want a sleek, modern look to showcase quick, high-demand services like blowouts, curly styling and extensions.”
These entries cover different templates. I changed the focus from how a template looks to whom it suits.

Giving retailers a different take on returns.
I changed the angle from limiting losses to finding opportunities in post-holiday returns. I carried that approach through the headline, introduction, and advice for retailers.
